In Texas it may or may not be against the law,But also in Texas you can hang them from a tall tree with a short rope. This law does apply to any state my daughter is in.
My daughter know if she loves the guy enough to date a guy that old she better love or like him enough to not see what DAD will do to him.

Dating, as far as I know, is not illegal any where in this country. Having sex with a minor is. He could be arrested, jailed and be labeled a sexual offender for the rest of his life. Any parent allowing a 14 year old girl to date an 18 year old boy is unfit. Talk with her and let her know the consequences. Someone should also talk to him.

Why is an adult dating a minor in the first place? It seems like something most parents would disapprove. Heck I would if I were in your shoes. Legal or not, it's not appropriate. As a parent, you can say you disapprove of it because it's not appropriate. Let your daughter know what you think and how you feel about it, and ask your daughter how she would feel about it if she were the parent. Sit down and have a chat with your daughter. Don't be mean or shout at her, but be gentle but firm.

It doesn't really matter. You are the parent and legal guardian. If you don't want your daughter to date the guy, don't let her. However, it is very common for kids that age to date in that same situation---i.e. freshman girls dating senior guys. In the overall scheme of things, they are both really kdids and there really isn't that much difference than there would be if your daughter was 15 and he was 17. Now that doesn't sound as bad does it? Be reasonable. If you WANT to let them date and you're worried about him getting in trouble, check with your local county courthouse to be sure. (anonomously of course)

it is if you shoot his ***, no do not do that, have a talk with his parents, that just may change the course of history for your daughter, and while your at it have a grown up talk with your daughter, not as her friend but as her parent, you never know till you communicate with her so give it your best try and good luck, and remember you were 14 or google ly eyesd once, so keep it a two way listening and sharing experience, best of luck.....

HAND have a nice day!!!

If it is not against the law then you should keep them apart. That is a young man and a child!! Yuck on so many different levels.

I agree with number 1 -- It should be. She is WAY to young.

Do you realize 5 years ago she was only 9??

Really think about that.
