If you don't know what a tremolo is, I recommend that you ignore it. They are almost useless for the new player other than to pull the guitar out of tune.
Just take the arm off and store it in the case until you become a little more advanced.

The tremolo arm is a rocker type arm that is mounted on the bridge of the guitar. It is spring counterpoised. When you press it it relieves the tension on the strings, lowering the pitch... when you pull it up it tightens the tension, raising the pitch. It is used mostly in certain styles of rock and rock and country to created an overall bending and vibrating effect.
It is fun to use, but it makes the guitar harder to tune and tends to casue string breakage. The best brand is the Floyd Rose, in my opinion.

IT DOES WHAT IT SAYS ; TREMOLO. IF YOU DON'T WHAT WHAT A TREMOLO IS THEN TAKE MUSIC THEORY IF YOU PLAN TO MAKE GOOD MUSIC. THE WAY YOU USE IT IS YOU PUSH THE BAR AGAINST THE GUITAR TO RELEASE TENSION ON THE STRINGS THEREFOR MAKING THE NOTES LOWER (THE OPPOSITE OF PITCH BEND). YOU PULL THE BAR BACK AND FORTH TO CREATE A TREMOLO.
