Furthermore, creationists should believe that dinosaurs marched two by two on Noah's arc and that the Earth was created in 7 days. THey also believe that man was made of DIRT and divine breathe. Modern science tells us that it isn't possible, neither is Jesus's virgin birth!

Please try to refrain from saying "the Bible says so" there is no evidence in the Bible itself.

God created Adam as an adult why couldnt he create a mature earth?
Do you know the average dinasour was under 6 feet tall.
Now you could believe the earth is slightly older there is a verse in II Peter saying that a 1000 years is like a day to the lord so theres 6000 years plus another 6000 giving you 12000 years.
If God can think something into being, 6 literal days sounds like a long time to create earth.
Science was created by Christians, you should listen to Dr. D James Kenedy Sermon from today (What if Christ was never born). In it he list all the founders of differnt sciencentic areas of expertise that were Christians. Man is made up of all the key elements that are found in dirt. It takes more faith to believe in Evolution than in does the Bible and it dosent change every some many years like the latest evoluntary theory ( a theory is an educated guess) Also science has proven that it is possible for a woman to fertalize her own egg if certain conditions exsist.
The Bible says the wisdom of God is foolishness to man.

Here is something much more important to consider.
If you reject Christ and your wrong then what?
Are you willing to gamble eternity on it?
Are you really that sure of yourself?
ALL of the prophesies that were made hundreds, sometimes thousands, of years before Jesus Christ was born. Looking in the face of how He literally fulfilled them all (plus hundreds more), it is an impossibility that He is not Messiah, Saviour of the world. The ONLY person...past, present or future...who could fulfill all these prophecies is Jesus Christ.

There is no more evidence proving that this world has been around for millions of years than 6,000 years.

Creationists trust in God and His word the Bible.

We could care less what so-called evidence scientists find on a daily basis.

God created the world in 6 days and rested on the 7th day.

NOTE: Many scientists have converted to Christianity AFTER reading the Bible trusting God to interpret the words.

Do you want to know the truth about why you hear creationists saying that stuff? Ready for some harsh truth from a Christian?
Its because they do not know or understand what the Bible says at all. Biblical illiteracy at its height. This is not to say that they are not well-meaning - they are; they just have not been taught.
The Bible does not say anywhere in its pages that the earth is 6000 years old. So what does it really say? It says this:
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. - period ends that sentence. When did it say God created it? It doesn't, just "in the beginning". According to the Scriptures, this earth is billions and billions of years old - eons old. When you read in Genesis in chapter 1, you are reading of Gods refurbishing this earth to make it better inhabitable for flesh life, thats all. He says be fruitful, multiply and replenish the earth, because it had already been plenished before. The Bible speaks of three earth ages, one that was , one that is, and one that is to come. The Book of Job refers to creatures the size of dinosaurs that once roamed the earth, just as a side-note.
Its so silly to say this earth is 6000 years old - We find fossils and skeletons of dinosaurs - you can go to museums and see them. aaahhhhh! Look, I really wish those Christians who are unlearned in the Word just be quiet, and not say anything.
The Bible is simply not taught, and the evidence of the truth of that statement is in exactly what you are saying here.
As a Christian, it frustrates me, but they really do not know better.
My point is, there is absolutely no controversy between Gods Word and true science. none.
I hope at least this has helped to answer your question.
regards,
jan

But is it reasonable to believe that everything on this earth was created in six days?

There are some religious groups that teach that God created everything in six 24-hour days. But that is not what the Bible says.

Genesis 1:3-31 tells how God prepared the already existing earth for human habitation. It says that this was done during a period of six days, but it does not say that these were 24-hour days. It is not unusual for a person to refer to his “grandfather’s day,” meaning that one’s entire lifetime. So, too, the Bible often uses the term “day” to describe an extended period of time. (Compare 2 Peter 3:8.) Thus the ‘days’ of Genesis chapter 1 could reasonably be thousands of years long.

Because the evidence is flawed, faulty and frankly unproven theories (some of it made up). Read Lee Strobel The Case for a Creator. However it is my opinion that most people such as yourself will go out of their way to find reasons to not believe in G-d because of what it would possibly mean with respect to their lifestyles. What you really need to hear is that you are loved, for who you are as opposed to anything else about you. Not just by G-d, but by fellow Christians. If you know of any Christians close at hand, talk to them and share what's going on with you and see if they don't reach back with arms of love.

Good luck with this.
Creationism is kind of like the rejection of logic. People who take the Bible literally are limiting their own ability to absorb any kind of new knowledge. If you're religious, at least be open enough to believe in your religion without rejecting proven theories based upon biblical reference alone- that makes you a "well rounded" believer. The bible is not complete. Its been tampered with and retranslated and bent and shaped to fit the needs of one ruling class after another, leaving it to be only a shadow of its original drafts. While I personally reject religion in my life (as I percieved it as fiction, which was a wise decision for MY lifestyle)- I feel those that take its writings as guidelines and allow it to affect their day to day life are no better or worse off to do so- I've met some really cool Christians. The problem comes in when it's taken word for word literally and used to pound down another person's beliefs in a tairade of argumentative ignorance, rejecting all logic because there was one sentence in the bible that told them to.

But "The bible says so," is why they believe it.

They are bible literalists.

The Creationists have arguments with the Intelligent Design and Devine Evolution people over this all the time.

They think Intelligent Design is heresy because it denies that the six days of creation in the bible really means six days.

Its a business, just like any other. It creates jobs for people whos talent is quoting an autobiagrapy written by other people because the person they wrote it for was illeterate. Just give donation. Shees, the Mormon church requests 10% off all your earnings. bottom line is money. doesent matter how they try to gain control to get it. Oops! Did I say that?Everything is created out of energy. God, Buddah, Allah. Its all the same. weak people need something to believe in other than themselfs.

Straightforward ignorance. A creationist who looked honestly at the wealth of evidence from geology and biology would be embarassed that they ever believed creationism had any validity.

The earth was created 6000 years ago? Where did you ever come up with that? That is absolutely ridiculous. Even the Sphinx in Egypt is dated at over 10,000 years.
