I want to go into an all-you-can-eat buffet with me laptop and a book to read and just sit in there the whole day so I could do what I normally do at home except with an unlimited supply of food. Is that bad, and do you think I would get kicked out?

I don't know but I'll give you a word of advice which you may already know. Avoid breads, cornbreads and such. Tasty but starch. Proprieters use them to fillyou up so you won't be able to eat as much steaks and such. I went to a seafood restaurant and the waitress kept coming around offering me beautiful cornbread. I tried one and it was mouth watering but I laid into the lobster and scallops. I told my older brother after. He smiled and said you aren't stupid are you. They tried the same on me and it didn't work either.

It might depend on how large the buffet is and how busy they are, but generally restaurants don't like people taking up space and not eating. I think what you're talking about doing is considered loitering and most places of business frown on that. Unless, of course, you're good friends with the owner.
Better try a coffee shop, or a library. Some book stores also have places you can do that, like Borders.

No, you should not get kicked out. You paid to eat all that you want, so you should be able to hang around and get what you want.

One time, a mate of mine and me went into a buffet, followed by two very big, very hungry football players. We all took a lot of food and within a few minutes, the food started to disappear off of the line. When I questioned the manager about it, he stated that he did not have enough food for the dinner crowd (it was lunch time) if all four of us ate a lot. I told him that was his problem and to start putting the food back out because I paid for it. The growling of the football players persuaded the manager to put the food back out.

They shouldn't, but if they did they'd be very wrong for doing so. I'd call the cops if they tried to kick me out because it is an ALL YOU CAN EAT buffet, right? If you'd rather avoid a bad situation just to be on the safe side, you should call up there or go to their web site and see. And no, I don't think that's bad at all.

My conventional buffet is both in call for human being walk or the Mandarin chain - both one in each of that are chinese language food buffets... There are really 2 places for the first - inspite of the indisputable fact that the food is out of this global (and also contains a very strong decision of extremely actual dishes - imagine "Braised Pigs Ears"). inspite of the indisputable fact that, there's a Mandarin interior of strolling distance of my position of abode - and the alternative can't be beat (except by the first position) ;);););)

I actually had a gastric bypass several years ago, so in order to get my money's worth at a buffet, I have to stay for a while, eating small amounts several times. I haven't ever been chased out, but my dining companions always want to leave before I'm ready. And yes, I've kept the weight off (160 lbs!)

Come down south! I doubt you'd get kicked out. Most of the managers at our buffets look like they have eaten all day! You should try it and post the results. I for one would like to see them.

I know someone who was thrown out after the forth trip to the buffet. He weighs over 300 lbs.

I'm guessing that as long as you've paid and aren't being a nuissance to the workers or other customers then there's nothing they can do.

Sounds like you're going on a mini vacation. I don't think it's bad thing, a bit humorous. If that helps you to unwind then have fun!!

Technically and legally you could stay as long as the all-you-can-eat hrs are..but I'd feel really uncomfortable about it!

I've been a waiter a few times in college...so if I did want to try this (I wouldn't)....I'd tip the waiter beforehand.
