What if...you get her phone number blocked...and she decides to call from another location? What if she calls from a phone with a different number? I think you need to take the bull by the horns and find a better way to deal with this unfortunate situation.
Once, I changed my phone number to an unpublished number to stop my schizophrenic boyfriend to call me. He could no longer reach me via phone so...instead he showed up at my door. I had to threaten him to call 911 for him to leave.
It is a sad situation but you have to put yourself first. Good luck!

First, don't answer the phone. Then you have other options: 1. Get call block from your phone company. 2. Look in your phone book for Mental Health Crisis Centers and give your friend the number. Let her know that there are people who want to listen to her. 3. Does she have a psychiatrist? Let the good doctor know what's been going on. He or she should be the one caring for her. 4. If all the above don't work, then round up a bunch of her friends and take turns answering her calls. Good luck and get good sleep. Jinxy53

The phone carrier you are with can block your phone # for a monthly fee. If you want to save money, a phone recording is the way to go just turn the volume down. However, be concern as well about your friend and try to find a solution where she can get professional help as from the sound of it you're the only one who has kept her going. Good luck.

The next time she calls, when you hang up pick up the phone again and press *67--it will take you to an automated recording telling you that the number has been blocked---once you do it though I don't know how to get it back

Actually ... It depends on who your phone service is with. If you have Bell South? First you will have to probably subscribe to this service and most of the time they will have a bundle service which gives you more options do do other things. Once you subscribe to these services they will send you a folder or booklet to explain "How to" start these services by just pressing a few numbers or codes through your phone.
But first --- find out through your provider as to what services are provided through them -- if any. Hopes this helps?????

I think you have to call the phone company and put a block on that number.
Another option, shut off the ringers on your phone at night.

depending on yr phone provider, if you're talking about your LAN line -- mine is southwestern bell --(ATT) -- with mine, u can call yr provider up and request the call block feature, will cost ~$4 a month, and then once it's active on yr acct, you can enter the number and it won't ring thru. another feature is Privacy Manager, which help keeps out telemarketers and stuff.
if it's yr cell she's calling, i don't know.

Contact your phone company and arrange to her calls blocked. And this question doesn't really belong in Mental Health.
