0.85 as the rest is watt-less current.

It results from the excepted norm for Power Factor and produces a 15% higher carbon footprint.
But hey! It's more costly to achieve unity so get the suckers to turn off a bulb or two. Don't worry about the waste or the cost of buying and producing waste when we generate it.
They will never know about it anyway.

va is the aparent power watts is the useful or true powe.

va is always either the same or more.

the power factor can not be greater than 1.

about 0.85 sounds right.

Don't understand but it cant be greater than unity (1) so must be pf0.85?
