Your dog has you both wrapped around his little paw. He knows if he begs your boyfriend enough he'll get table food, which is much more palatable then dry dog food. He knows that you will give him "treats" which are also more palatable then dog food. You have made yourself a little bratty dog!!! Just like a child who always gets sweets when he throws a fit!!..
So my suggestion is pick one type of food, Nutro, Science Diet, Iams, etc...and stick with it. I feed my dogs Science Diet Advance Protection and they love it. Tell your boyfriend that he can no longer give any scraps, stop giving him "treats" and stick to your guns.
In the morning put half of his appropriate amount of food in the bowl and make him sit and make a big deal about the food, stir it, shake it what ever to make him want it, give it to him and leave it there for 20 minutes then pick it up. If he doesn't eat it do not give him anything until the evening. Then do the same thing. Eventually, he will get hungry and he will eat. The purpose of making the big deal about it is to make it seem really yummy.
Ensure he has fresh water at all times. You have to stick to your guns.. NO scraps, NO treats, and for a while NO Nutri Stat it is high in calories which means really tasty, which is why he likes it. If you are feeding a quality pet food you shouldn't need pet tabs.
After you get your dog to eat, if you want to give him treats I recommend that you take a handful of his kibble and use that as treats.
Be tough but remember you do it out of love. You are the pack leader. Be the alpha dog.

No, I'd only feed the Nutri Cal if your dog is skinny to the point of being ill if he doesn't eat or has some kind of health condition. A healthy adult dog will not be harmed by skipping meals for two days... it's much harder on us to watch than than it is for them. Nutri Cal has calories but doesn't really have the nutrients he needs, so it might actually interfere with his hunger mechanism kicking in. I'd skip it.
For what it's worth, my endlessly picky shepherd hasn't turned down a meal once since I started feeding him raw diet. I switched because of other health reasons, but it's been quite a relief not to have to worry about whether he'd stop eating yet another carefully selected kibble.

Good luck getting him to come around. I know from experience what a headache this pickiness can be.

No. Nutri-Cal and the like are NOT meant for long term feeding. I feed it to my males when there are three to four days when a bit ch is in season and they will not eat anything, but that is it. It is a SUPPLEMENT. NOT a food. You need to stop switching food, and stick with one. Then you need to excercise the heck out tof the dog so it is mentally and physically in need of food. Consult a trainer or another professional for help. this IS a behavior problem and needs to be corrected!!!!!

First of all, you will not likely find the quality pet foods at PET stores. You will need to go to a FEED STORE. Wellness Puppy is excellent, Nutro (which can also be found at PET stores) is an excellent brand as well. Stay away from any food with corn and by products in it. Wellness and Nutro Natural Choice are good foods. You'll want to feed a puppy food for the first year.

Your dog doesn't eat his dogfood because he knows he'll get something from you. Cats will starve themselves to death if they don't like a food. Dogs will eat eventually eat. leave out his normal dog food. Make that the ONLY thing he can eat. He will eat it when he's hungry. Over christmas, my family spoiled my dog (behind my back) and fed her human food. When I got home it took me 3 days to get her back on her dog food. I held my ground, and it worked.

Well, the best thing to do is to stop feeding table scraps, keep offering the dog food, and when he gets hungry enough, he will eat the dog food.
If you really can't get your boyfriend to stop feeding him table scraps, then, yeah, I think the supplements are a good idea. Don't overdo it, though. One is enough.

I think you should start by giving him the scarps with a little bit of the dog food in it the gradually add more and more dog food in the scarps until he is completely on the dog food. But what they are is no false but the dog can get sick that way.
