we were married by a justice of the peace in june but want to have a re-commitment ceremony on our 1 yr ann...what do i need to do...invitations? food...centerpieces...everything help

You should have invitations but you don't have to do all the things you would at a formal wedding and it can be a more informal setting with enough pomp to make you happy but not go overboard - you wouldn't need center pieces for example but just a simple meal. Thnk of it in terms of a birthday party for the marriage.

My wife and I renewed our wedding vows after 25 years...and are looking forward to doing it again at our 50th in 12 years. Keep it simple and small. If you're a church member, talk to the pastor or church secretary. Our church has a 'social committee' who handles things like that.
