I've been talking to this girl, and we agreed to take things slow cuz this would be my first relationship and she has a baby. We've been out once, and talk on the phone every day. We also work at the same store, although not usually at the same time. When do I call her my girlfriend instead of just "that girl."

Ask her about her opinion on the situation. State you just didn't want to over step her bounds but you would like to identify her with the title girlfriend.

I found it very annoying when one guy who asked me out introduced me to everyone as his girlfriend. And he kept saying 'my girlfriend' when referring to me. HELLO.. I have a name. Use it!! Things didn't last very long with him.
If you are dating, you can tell people she is your girlfriend. Just don't forget her name. When you're talking to her, a lot of cute pet names work well if you are close. Even if you aren't to the point of saying I love you every day, you can start calling her sweety, baby, or something cute.
If you're sure she won't freak out, you can start saying I love you when you say goodbye. Everything becomes more natural with time. You'll know the love has come when you start saying I love you more than just during goodbye. But starting off saying it just as goodbye makes it easier to say it later when you really feel it. I hate it when people are stuck trying to figure out the best time for the first 'I love you'. With the only guy I loved, he said I love you when we said goodbye on the very first day. And we continued saying it as goodbye until it became more often because we really felt it. (We did know each other pretty well before we started dating though, I guess if you just met her, it's not the greatest idea.)

Well, make sure that she feels the same about you, as you feel about her. Maybe, while you are on a date, ask how she feels, and then if she says "i really like you." You could start calling her " your GIRLFRIEND"

She will be "officially" your girl when you all decide to see each other
exclusively.
You won't date anyone else and she won't either.
Until than she is just a female friend.
