The struggle against destitution, though urgent and necessary, is not enough. It is a question, rather, of building a nation where every man, no matter what his race, religion or nationality, can live a fully human life, freed from servitude imposed on him by other men who would take from them or by natural forces over which he has not sufficient control; a country where freedom and "protection are"not an empty word
Faced with a country today where so many people are suffering from want, the people asks individuals and governments to remember the saying of the Fathers: "Feed "your" people dying of hunger, because if you do not feed them you are killing them. Do not give to others before them"
More than 33 million Americans -- about one in every seven people in our nation -- are poor by the government's official definition. That so many people are poor in a nation as rich as ours is a social and moral scandal that we should not ignored..
As individuals and as a nation, therefore, we are called to make a fundamental "option for the poor." The obligation to evaluate social and economic activity from the viewpoint of our poor and what would benefit them. We are doing a poor job of this!!!!!! As we often give to others first.
It is impossible for one nation to feed and care for the whole world. But it is not impossible to care for the poor here. It just isn't being done--because people will not look to those in their own family first.
What truly righteous person would feed his neighbors children and let his own starve--that would be abuse.. No a righteous person who care for his than reach out to help others. And that is the right thing to do.. They owe that protection to their own children. first and foremost.

In answer to your question--people will turn away from seeing the harm that they have done to their own. And will pretend that they did what they could. They will not extent that hand up anymore than they did to begin with. And yes, they will find something else to complain about.. Self righteous people who wanted to look and sound good to others--yet let their own starve--pitiful! Pitiful and selfish.

If this issue is not resolved in proper order ...that is to lay down the law and close the borders, it will be high time to do one thing.

LEAVE the USA.

Does that cover it for you. You can have the whole freaken mess. It's not only about Illegals, it's about the criminal way the USA is being run. All good things come to an end. One needs to recognize when it's time to step from the sinking boat to the dock.
And go find another boat. It's worked for the Mexicans.

No one is going to do anything about any Americans....sad, but likely true. Pro-illegals think all Americans are lazy and deserve the ills they get so I wouldn't bank on any humanitarian aid from them. It would be nice if more Americans were civic minded and passionate about ALL social issues. This is our home, and eventually our kids will inherit it.

Most likely they will complain about something else like the War in Iraq or the death of Saddam. These people don't have a life and only like to point fingers like you said. Preach it my friend!

There are more of us anti-illegals than there are pro-criminals. We represent the majority of citizens. This site isn't an isolated complaint board. Don't you realize that important people come here to see what average citizens think about all issues? We are fighting for the needs and rights of all citizens. While some people are fighting to give it all to illegal invaders.

its the same in Mexico so I dont think your question holds water,
theres plenty of hatred and corruption etc there, why import it here( and yes I have met some really nice illegals who actually were trying to better themselves so dont call me a racist whiner)but they sent the money back home for a better life there in Mexico

Well, you just said it. Illegals should get nothing. Concern should only be for Americans. Employers who hire illegals should be fined or sent to prison. And illegal supporters should be deported along with illegals.

So you support illegals (law breakers)? Most illegal supporters either hire them or have someone in the family who is an illegal. BTW,most Americans are anti illegal.

It's a pointless question, because the illegal immigration issues won't be "said and done" any time soon.
