i was stopped last night for speeding. I have had my provisional license for about 3 weeks and was aware that i couldn't have anyone younger then 25 in the car with me. My friend was in the car and he is 15 years old. The officer said I would loose my license until i was 18 but when I looked on the dmv website i couldn't find anything like that. i don't have any points on my license besides the ones i'm going to get from last night and i was wondering if that is the correct punishment?

the state might at the very least give u a 60 day or 90 day license suspension, but ur parents might trump state law and say u've lost it till they say u can drive again.
there's a reason rookie driver's shouldnt have other teens in the car for at least the first 6 months; u cant afford any distractions. u've only had ur license 3 weeks, and already u got tagged for speed.

From the CA DMV Web page:

Provisional Driving Restrictions—You must be accompanied and supervised by a licensed parent, guardian or other licensed driver 25 years of age or older or a licensed or certified driving instructor when you:

Transport passengers under 20 years of age at any time, for the first twelve months.
Drive between 11 pm and 5 am for the first twelve months.

Indeed the judge when you appear can pull your license and you will be unable to get another until you reach the age of majority, 18 in California.

Not a good way to get started, you knew you couldn't do it, but did anyway?

Better have daddy bring you cigarettes. Just kidding about that. But you knew the law. You didn't know about speeding laws? I don't think so. Your in Ca, so you had to take Drivers ED. Now you have to pay. Now you have to Waite another 2 years and that's just for driving with a passenger plus the speeding violation. If your in Los Angeles your in deep S***.
