Well i guess we would have to actually have a middle eastern pro boxer in order to disrespect him now wouldn't we? I hate when people ask questions why Anybody don't respect any type of fighter. Respect has to be earned. American fighters don't just step into the ring and are automatically respected. They fight for it. And when the middle east has someone with enough heart to step in the ring and dominate, then we'll respect him.

~This guy is constantly making accusations about Americans disrespecting them and being racists. I have not ever heard of any middle eastern boxers either. If you want to know who the racist is, point your finger at YOURSELF!

I don't think it's the lack of respect for middle-eastern boxers. Blame that creepy hairy mobster "Don King" He's the promoter and calls the shots.

I agree with Jess, Americans do have a problem with ethnocentric perspectives and self serving biases. But there was a very impressive featherweight world champion named Naseem Hamed. He was of Yemeni origin, but grew up in Sheffeild, England. Lightening fast with great power. He was a pretty good fighter. He finished 36-1 with 31 knockouts!!! There are others that are pretty solid as well, but He enjoyed the greatest success that I am familiar with.

Name one woman, American or otherwise, that gives a hoot about boxing!
As for the American men, most are football or baseball fans. Not a lot of boxing fans in this country.
