Well, if you bleach your hair, then dye it purple, your hair will be very purple, not just tinted. A tint is possible if your hair is naturally lighter than the dye, and unless it is nearly black, you will not need to bleach your hair to get a purple tint.
If I may make a suggestion, find the hair board on Craftster.org, under beauty I think, though I could be wrong, and then read some of the posts similar to what you are trying to do if you are unsure about anything. I think you can find all the information you may want there.

if you bleach your hair and then tint it, it will definitely be totally purple. but if you just tint it, it will look purple in some light and natural in others. (which is a benifit if your school or workplace has strict hair rules). it really depends on what you want.

Make sure its a tint or a rinse and not permanent color and it should wash out after 5 or 6 washing.

no if u have light hair then u can buy a haircolor with viole tone in it but if u have dark then u have too
