By PETA's standards, it's not even ethical to *have* a dog. Pet ownership is akin to slavery in their view, all animals should be free.
But the Humane Society and SPCA recommend spaying and neutering for the health of your pet and prevention of unwanted litters. Which makes sense to me.

by peta's standards it's not only not right to spay or neuter a dog, but you should not even keep them as pets. they are crazy! they believe you should let animals run loose and do their own thing and only live among them, not interact. they are money greedy people doing only what benefits their pockets and use propaganda to get more money. right now there are peta members on trial in virginia for killing animals and throwing them into a grocery store dumpster. never support peta!

Of couse it is....unless you intend to do so in some inhumane way, like without anasthesia. PETA advocates spaying and neutering pets because they know that the suffering of starving and freezing puppies and kittens (which has been a huge problem for a long time) bred from unfixed animals is way worse than subjecting your pet to a little dicomfort. I got my mutt spayed 2 weeks ago, and by the second day she was acting like nothing had ever happened.

Of PETA was ethical they would not kill 90% of the animals they take in at their "shelter". They would not try to stop no kill shelters from being opened. They would not protest other shelters who kill rate is far lower than theirs. The founder and VP would not be using medical care that used animal testing while telling us we should let our children die than to use the same treatments. They are one of the most evil groups around withHSUS and ALF right behind

Angel - "peta's goal is to prevent the use of animals for clothing, entertainment, and experimentation"
The AR groups want to end ALL animal contact! INCLUDING 'fluffy' on your couch and your horse on your pasture!

YES! It is encouraged to avoid overpopulating the world. They don't even want you to buy from pet stores, they want you to adopt from the human society and pound to save lives. It is considered humane to "fix" animals like cats and dogs.

PETA wants all domesticated animals dead. They feel that the domesticated cat and dog are pathetic creatures and want them eliminated. They also are supporters of breed specific legislation and want all "bully breeds" dead asap (pitties, staffies, Rotties, ect). They are a sick group of people so you shouldnt be wanting to go by their "standards".

PETA thinks its bad to
Feed your pets properly (prey model diets are bad....because vegan is the way to go!)
Own most pets (I am very happy owning my exotic pet and he is very happy in my home!)
Alter your pet (So most AKC breeders are B-A-D for going with breed standards and docking tails or cropping ears...guess I have done bad by fixing my dogs)
Breed your pet (kinda conflicts with the statement above)
wear any type of fur (I make sweaters out of my dog's shed....its BAD because its made of fur....)
so the answer to your question is.....NO
Seriously...just forget about PETA and fix your dog...for the sake of animal shelters!

Yes. It's considered unethical to let your pet become pregnant or get another dog pregnant without a plan as to where those puppies would go. It is better for an animal to suffer the pain of being spayed or neutered than for it cause unwanted animals to be born who could then be mistreated or unloved.

Join peta's website, get on their mailing list ask for all the free samples you can get. This takes money that they could spend on their propaganda. Do not send them any money. I you feel you have to support animals, donate to your local humane society and earmark your donation for food for pets or vet bills for injured animals.
