It's a long story but my real question is her belief that upon our marriage, I'll no longer require a residence or work visa when I am in Germany. I've done alot of internet homework and written letters as well and have gotten conflicting answers. She is also under the belief that I will be covered by her German health insurance. I came back to the states last month for some personal reasons but she will be here on 6 January and we will go to Las Vegas for the marriage and a short honeymoon/vacation. Does anybody out there have some solid knowledge about the topics I mentioned? Thanks.

Well, no one can accuse the two of you of just jumping into marriage without thinking it out.

Seriously, here is the German Interior Ministry's page on immigration to Germany. Good luck!

You need to check with the German embassy or with a German govt. website, assuming you speak German. Failing that, you may need to find an immigration advisor in Germany.

Why haven't you asked the German Embassy? You need to go to the source, rather than just get opinions from random people.

I would start with Immigration. Locate their website, or go to their office. If anyone would have the correct answers, one would hope it would be them.
