omg my Dad snores sooo loud too. What I do is close my door or my parents' door-sometimes both. You can't really stop a person from snoring, I used to share a room with my sister and she snored sooo loud-and I tried to do everything I could to get her to stop. Although I have heard of some strips you can put on your nose and helps you not snore as much.
Good luck!

You may get him to try Breath Right strips for the nose. Snoring though could be symptoms of more serious problems, does your dad suffer Sleep Apnea, or is he overweight? Going to the doctor isn't that bad of an idea.

Ask your mom if she notices (she does we're just dropping hints here) that dad seems to have a snoring problem and you're scared it might be serious. If you can't sleep find a quieter spot in the house to sleep. When your parents ask why you are sleeping there, apologize and tell them dad's snoring was keeping you awake.
They will realize that it is a problem that is really disrupting family life.
If you confront him directly about it he will become defensive and just think that you are an ungrateful brat; it's his house and he can snore in it as loud as he pleases.

Easy solution is moving to a different room or closing the door.
More drastic solution is replacing your father with someone who is not snoring.

The dentist can give him a mouthpiece to wear at night to reduce the severity of his store.
"The cause of snoring is some kind of blockage in the breathing passage. Those blockages can be of many kinds—here are just a few:
* Tongue falling into the throat
* Allergies
* Throat weakness causing the throat to close during sleep
* Mispositioned jaw, often caused by tension in muscles
* Fat gathering in, and around, the throat"

Is he overweight or have allergy problems? Depending on why he snores, what could be done to correct it.
My fiance snores, and when he comes over, I dread it, but it's because he's a few pounds overweight and knows this. So before our wedding date and move in date, he's trying to loose and also going to the Doctor for medical help.
You can't stop him, just try going to sleep before him.
Depending on your age if the doc will give you sleep aid meds to help you sleep through the night.
Good luck hon, if mama's not stopping him...then unfortunately you will have to learn to adjust. :)
