A couple of days ago I woke up with one ear aching and could hear about 50% of what I could normally hear. I tried squirting it with hot water a couple of times and tried hot oil but nothing helped at all. Now when I woke up today both of my ears feel the same - blocked and painful. I was wondering if it might not even be wax it might be an infection or something. Also at night time all I can hear is my heartbeat echoing in my ears really loudly. And when I talk I can hear my voice really loudly. I would love some help/advice because it is very very annoying!!

the hot water was a bad idea, you have made it worse,go to your doctors and have your ears looked at,may just be excess wax.it can be removed in just a few seconds,i had it done twice, its great afterwards you can hear a pin drop miles away!

Sound's like your ear's are blocked with a wax ball. I've had that in one ear, it can be quite pain full. I had to fill my ears with a little olive oil, put in cotton wool. leave it for 24 hours I think, then get them syringed by a nurse. Ask your Doctor about this and he should arrange it with the nurse.
Hope this is help full. Happy new year.

I Have had the same problem for about 5 weeks I have been to the doctor 3 times, and I have had several different meds she is convinced it is viral and it has to run its course because none of the meds worked.
