I have CML (leukemia) which is cancer of the blood and I am taking a chemo pill called Gleevec, very expensive, and also get a shot of Aranesp every 3 weeks to build up my red blood cell count so I won't feel so tired (can't tell it helps any). Even though I take my chemo med through a pill I still lost my hair and still have alot of the side effects and have been on it since March 1 of this year. It is keeping my white blood count at a normal range and I will be checked next month to see if its in remission. When it goes in remission I will still need to take the pill and wear amask in public to help keep me from catching everything since I have no immune system anymore. I never know when I'm going to be able to keep food down, don't have an appetite, make myself eat, etc. I wish your aunt the best, I'm 51.

Are you sure that she isn't taking oral chemo?
My son was on oral Temodar (Temozolmide) for 8 months - it's a chemotherapy, but he was able to take it at home. There are alot of oral chemo drugs and you take them at home just like any other medication. What many people are unaware of it that for many patients cancer is more like a chronic illness. You can treat it many different ways, especially if it is not growing to fast. I know people who are on 'maintanence' drugs (low dose chemo such as VP-16 (etoposide) ) to keep the cancer under control.
Don't know if that has re-assured you. You might add a bit more information such as type of cancer.
Best wishes.

What type of cancer? Chemo is medication, so when you say this time she is being treated with medication, do you mean oral? More information, and I can probably guess which drugs you're talking about. I am guessing it's probably lung cancer??

Many types of Chemotherapy can cause hair loss. The reason for patient's loss of hair is that chemotherapy can kill healthy cell in the process of killing cancerous cells. Hair loss due to radiation treatment will only occur within the radiation field. Scalp hair will only be affected if the head receives radiation. Anti-inflammatories that are also used as a chemotherapy drug that induce hair loss are Methotrexate (MTX) Rheumatrex (methotrexate)

Don't check my spelling but there was a guy named Otto Warburg. He won the nobel prize for the discovery of what causes cancer. He said cancer is caused by anaerobism or absence of oxygen. He induced cancer in 47 different species of animals in weeks, by injecting them with acid. Acid drives out oxygen. Absence of oxygen causes cancer. Dr. Carl Reesh, Again sorry about the spelling, did experiments on the polar opposite end without knowing it. He gave all of his patients 2000mg of calcium 600of mag 5000iu vitamin D a Day! After 20 years he had hundreds of terminal patients who survived long past their due date. According to his research, Calcium whooped Diabetes, Heart disease and Cancer among others. He said one of the main reasons was calcium drives out acid. Allows oxygen to flourish. Cancer dead. Have a nice day!

Cancer treatment varies with the type and location of cancer.

there is a natural way to cure cancer, i know it sounds far fetched but go to herbdoc.com and go to the cure-all section and get on it. it is a 30 day total body detox. it taste like crap and it requires discipline to complete it, but it is better than cancer. good luck.
