I don't know about the 100 stairs, but Angels Flight was a trolley track that ran on the east side of Bunker hill between the upscale neighborhood there and the shopping and financial distirct around Broadway. It was built in 1901 and operated privately until the '60s. The city currently owns it and was running it as a tourist trolley until an accident forced a shutdown in 2001. It is scheduled to reopen next year.

there is a place in Santa Monica, (north of San Vicente)
but there is this staircase that has a 100 steps, it goes
from from upper San Vicente area into the Santa Monica
canyon (I forget the street name but I belive its starts with an "A:
called An something)
a lot of joggers and people getting in shape for the LA Marathon
uses these steps constantly which sometimes gets the neighboor into a uproar

Yes, it was/is in the Bunker Hill section of downtown Los Angeles. It stopped operating years ago, but it still runs occassionally for historical value.
