Vanilla ice cream topped with a hot, home made topping. My family is presently into apple, you slice up a couple and cook them with Cinnamon and brown sugar. You get that great home made taste for little $. You could do the same with pecans for a more adult occassion.

Take about 2 cups cool whip and place in a bowl; gently fold in 1/2 tsp almond extract. Set in the fridge. In a separate bowl cut up about 8 strawberries, 1/2 cantaloupe, 1 kiwi, and some grapes or other berry. Toss with 3 TBSP sugar. Let sit for about 1/2 hour. Place the cool-whip into a Ziploc bag, and snip off a small corner of the bottom. Pipe the cream 1/2 way up in a wine glass or other goblet for each guest. Top with fruit and the juices...( the color will look great drizzling over the cream.) Top off each with addition cream, and drizzle with juices. Looks great and tastes delicious, and your guests will be surprised!

Go to the dollar store get a devil food cake mix( might need extra ingredients ..oil, eggs and milk but you may have that already at home.) and a can of whipped cream. Bake and decorate with the whipped cream. If you have enough money left you can pick up fresh fruit and add to the decoration.

Homemade baked products--cookies, cake or cinnamon rolls etc.-- are actually very inexpensive--providing you don't have to go out and buy new bags of every single thing. Flour and sugar are cheap--- you can use vegetable oil instead of butter--and I always leave out the eggs in recipes because I don't eat eggs.
Even if you have nothing on hand--- you won't use the whole bags and can use it later for other things.
google for recipes---
