Proactiv worked well for me, and each "kit" lasted me 3 to 4 months. I have also tried the Neutrogena advanced solution, which works almost as well and costs about half the price.

I've been a user of proactive for about 2 years, and 40 bucks a pop has been well worth it. I had really bad acne starting at 14 and 15 my mom took me to a dermatologist, it cost a fortune and the stuff he prescribed only made my skin worse.
Then I talked my mom into trying out the proactive, it was the best choice I ever made in my life I think. Yes, I agree, unfortunatly its pricy, and yes, you do need to keep using it or else you will just end up like you were before you started using it. Depending on how severe your acne is, plays a roll in how long you should use it. I did stop using it for a period of time, and didn't get bad acne back, though I did have blemishes and what not.
This is what I do to make the kit last longer, I use the proactive at night, and you only need a dime size amount of the facial scrub, then follow with the toner and lotion, in the morning I use a mild facial soap called Basis and then use the toner from proactive to make sure I get all the oil build up and soap that may still be clogged in the pores. The kit lasts me about almost 3 months, so 40 dollars is well worth it. I recommend you try it out, they have a 90 day trial kit for 19.99 to see if it works for you. not only does it keep your skin clear but it also evens out skin tone and you'll never remember a day when your skin was this soft. Good luck, and I hope you try it out.

Proactiv is amazing! I used to have really bad acne. I started using Proactiv in high school, and 5 years later I'm still using it. After my skin cleared up, I used the cleanser at night, the toner in the morning, and the lotion only as a spot treatment. I've been doing it that way for 4 years. I also love the mask. It makes your skin feel really healthy. It is 40 bucks for the system, but it lasts a long time. I get a new one twice a year! I love it. I didn't even break out at all during pregnancy, and all of those hormone changes!

Yes, but if you stop, you'd still have a good few months, like 2-4, before you really break out again. Mine only cost me 30 dollars and they sell it at the mall for a cheaper price than over the phone.
