There is one simple answer to losing weight, however no one likes the answer. You have to burn more calories than you take in. Its that simple. Most people are looking for something more simple. Just google diets and see how many are available, but most people do not have the will power to maintain a diet. Your best plan is to change your life style. You have the rest of your life to work on it. I at one point weighted over 550lbs and could hardly move around, however I still had to get through the day. Just simple changes in my life style took over 100lbs off of my body so I could do more to take the weight off. Its hard but its worth it. Go health, and if you want the junk eat it, just dont eat it as much or just once a month, week, day. Now I do have help with a diet plan but its not for everyone. I love it because I get to eat anything, just in the proper portions. It is called the 3 hour diet. Now its not easy to fit into everyones life, but in my situation I had to or not have much of a life. Its simple, you dont have to read the books or buy anything special. Eat every three hours. Thats it. Start your day off with 400 calories, three hours later 100 calories, three hours later 400 calories, and work this rotation until you have completed 3 meals and 2 snacks. You take the food you would eat in 3 meals and devide it into 6 meals. It just keeps you from getting hungry or craving anything. Now I have been one this diet for 2 years and have lost another 120 lbs. I have ate everything from pizza to cheeseburgers and even had a beer or two. Now Im back to a weight where I can go walking, biking, swimming. I wish you the best of luck and hope you find something that works for you, that is the key. Just keep looking, but most will need a change in their life to keep a healthy weight. Good luck I hope this helps you.

I just recently lost ten pounds and one of the most important things is not to give up. You can expect to have days where you fail and eat a ton of junk food. What is important is that you actually realize you can't eat like that constantly and you make an effort to eat healthy the next day. Water is very important. Drink as much water has you can. If you don't usually drink a lot of water your body will stop retaining water now that it feels you are getting enough and you can lose a couple of pounds fast just by cleaning our your system.
I have noticed it also helps to eat small portions throughout the day. That way the food in your stomach has time to settle and if you are still hungry you can eat a little more. If you eat a big meal at one time, you will probably overeat because your stomach hasn't had time to tell your brain you are full yet. And of course fruits and vegetables are important and low in fat and calories. Try to eat fruits and veggies if you have the munchies.
Exercise is very important too because it speeds up your metabolism and builds muscle. Muscle in turn burns more calories during the day even if you are not exercising. Good luck.

Do not go for a diet fad, all our bodies are different, so why follow the same diet for all of them? Here are some tips to help you lose weight!
Drink at least 8 glasses of cold water every day. Cold water actually uses up calories because your body can't use the water when it is too cold, so it uses energy to heat it up.
*Stop drinking soda and sugary juices all together, they do nothing but harm your body.
*Eat smaller meals, but more meals throughout the day. Never skip a meal, because you skip a meal, overeat at the next meal, feel bad, skip another meal, overeat again, ect. DOES NOT WORK!
*Veggies and fruits are your friends! Plus, eating pomigranite (the actual fruit) can curb your appetite, plus it will take you a full hour to pick out all that stuff in the actual fruit :)
*When you eat, be sure to sit up straight and have a little pillow on your lower back. This will help your brain realize it is full. It takes the brain 15-20 minutes to realize you are full!
*When you eat, take 3 bites, a sip of cold water, 3 bites, sip of cold water. This will help your brain realize it is full.
*Get smaller plates and smaller knives and forks. Why? Studies show that a group of people with big bowls and giant spoons will eat TONS of ice cream before full. While people who have little bowls and need to eat the ice cream with tiny sample spoons still eat that little bowl of ice cream, and they feel satisfied and full!

don't go for fad diets or fasting. that will only make things worse.
drink a lot of cold water, depending on your weight currently. cold water actually uses up calories because uses energy to heat it up.
stop drinking soda and other bad beverages. they're just pure sugar, which means its high in calories.
eat lots of veggies and fruits!
when you eat, be sure to sit up straight. this will help your brain realize it is full so you don't overeat.
when you eat, take 3 bites, a sip of cold water, 3 bites, sip of cold water. this will help your brain realize it is full.
eat smaller meals, but more meals throughout the day. do not skip a meal because you will overeat at the next meal, feel bad, skip another meal, then overeat again. it doesn't help at all!
get smaller plates and smaller knives and forks, it will fool your mind into thinking you're eating just as much when you're actually eating less.

For belly fat:
-Do crunches
-Wake up, and do a ten minute workout of random assorted belly stuff, such as crunches, sit ups, etc.
For leg fat:
-visit this website: http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/1-13-2005-64128.asp
For both:
-Don't weigh yourself often
-Focus on measurements, not weight (muscle weighs a lot)
-Run daily.
-Rent Tae-Bo tapes or DVD's from the library and do them
-Drink lots of water
-Eat everything in moderation (obviously)
Don't stress too much, I'm sure you look great, and you sound healthy. Happy New Year!

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!
