I have indeed met people that were told they could not be matched and declined potential members for being un matchable. I tried it out. You first spend a lot of time doing the "profile". They send you matches based on your profile. There is a multiple communication step process you have to go through before you actually communicate directly.

I did receive "matches" weekly and I found that the many matches were too far away. I did not feel that the matches were good matches. The steps were too time consuming. I posted a photo up front and found that most didn't.

I found yahoo personals and match.com to be more bang for the buck. Most people are not afraid to put up photos.

Just remember this. These sites are no magic bullet for love. You get what you put into it. Don't be afraid to try to get to know someone.

If you're a guy and you have any kind of standards, I don't think it's a good site for you. In fact, most online dating is not good. Inactive profiles are not deleted, so it looks like you have more matches than you actually do. And it looks like online dating sites are filled with women who are either fat, slutty, or single mothers (no offense to single mothers, I just don't want to date you and your problems until I turn 35). Decent women are flooded with requests. And if you're not tall, don't make enough money, or don't look quite right, you probably won't succeed well there.

When I tried to sign up for eHarmony, they wouldn't take me. I spent a pretty long time filling out that questionaire thoughtfully, and they said that their matching system will not work for a certain percentage of the population. That's the portion of the population with STANDARDS, I suppose. And from what I've read in reviews of websites, eHarmony is not a very good place for men. Lots of people complained that their matches were all fat women, or that they never got responses to their requests. And like most dating sites, eHarmony does not delete inactive profiles and they do not indicate when a profile is a non-subscriber profile (non-subscribers cannot reply).

If I were you, I'd just try to get out more. Online dating isn't good unless you have some extraordinarily desireable characteristics, or you aren't picky. Good luck!

It usually takes up to a week before you get matches. Its a good way to meet a variety of people you would otherwise not meet.
