It could be a big advantage for you. The best thing you can do is become a AFOSI agent.

AF Office of Special Investigations (OSI) would be great for the resume.

If you join the Air Force Reserve it's a six year commitment and you'll likely end up someplace in the middle east. That's a pretty big commitment to get a couple extra points for a job.

Most military security police don't have a degree in law enforcement, so need the experience to get hired.

I'd just make sure I selected the best classes for what I wanted to do and study hard. Good Luck!

It could seriously give you a major advantage . Finish your college first though . If you are too scared to go to war then you shouldn't be trying for any law enforcement positions , criminals try to kill law enforcement every day . That covers federal , state , and local . I'm not trying to be a prick , just stating the facts .

That's a pretty heavy commitment just to get some experience in law enforcement.

Have you looked into becoming a reserve police officer instead? My neighbor did that while in college and is now a police sargent and happy with his career.

You might look into it.

Good luck!

I've gotta go with Ray H on this one. If you have any doubts concerning your ability to perform under stressful situations, whether it's wartime conditions or in civilian law enforcement, then you may have some soul searching to do.
