What impact would that have on society as a whole? Who would suffer and how? Could you just sit back and watch people suffer because they are unwanted?

Funny how we are a country made up of immigrants trying to keep immagrints out. Anyways, you wouldn't be able to target one race so everyone would have to go. You see suffering everyday in television & news reports from around the world, even in your own community because they are unwanted.

Well, that’s precisely the point, isn’t it? Society as a whole doesn’t suffer. Do you think if it did that illegal immigration would be allowed for one minute? The Feds in D.C. who refuse to enforce the law don’t experience the negative effects of illegal immigration. The $10 billion more in government service than illegals pay in taxes is just a drop in the bucket for the Feds (and that’s just the cost for the federal government, see source below).

Those who live in border states or states with high illegal populations (ie, CA, AZ, TX, FL and NY), they’re the ones who suffer the most. For example: In southern CA alone, 19 major hospitals have gone bankrupt and have shut down due to the flood of illegals who are coached on how to receive free medical services from hospitals that are required to treat them. Unfortunately, the cost to the local and state taxpayer isn’t reimbursed by the federal government.

Estimated costs to the individual states most negatively impacted by illegal immigration (costs to education, medical and incarceration):

California - $10.5 billion (2004)
Arizona - $1.3 billion (2004)
Texas - $ 4.7 billion (2005)
Florida - $1.7 billion (2005)
New York - $5.2 billion (2006)

Illegal immigration is not a victimless crime as painted by some. These are some of the other negative affects:

-drain public funds that would otherwise help needy citizens
-create unfair competition for low paying jobs, artificially lowering wages
-quality of education, health care and other services are undermined
-bring contagious diseases such as TB (once thought to be eradicated in the U.S.)

None of this is to mention the mounting evidence that terrorists are illegally entering the U.S. via the southern border. Unfortunately, it will take a successful terrorist attack with a lot of "people suffering" before “society as a whole” will decide that its time to get serious about the problem.

the impact would be that there would be more jobs available for legal citizens. I am sorry, but there are a lot of poor Americans, me included.. and when I cannot get good health care because I do not have insurance, and I see soooo many illegal immigrants getting free health care.. there is something wrong with that picture. My taxes are paying for them to get health care, and I can't even get my own. That is just not right. No one would suffer more. I am expecting to get a lot of 'thumbs down" on this already, but.. can't help that.. simply my opinion. And yes, I could sit back and watch if that meant that my own kids, born here, would be able to get good medical care. I work hard to support my kids, single mom, and I simply hate it when I see people get stuff for nothing, while I work so hard and still get nothing but the privilege of watching others benefit from my taxes.

They are unwanted because they drain our resources and can be hired for little pay (which takes jobs from American Workers). I think that the government should impose penalties on businesses that hire illegals and force them to become a U.S. citizen before providing them with government funded education and health care.

more resources would be available for our own LEGAL citizens who need the social programs.

people are suffering all over the world. we sit back and watch them suffer. do you want them all to immigrate to the USA? eventually the producers of the revenue to fund these programs will be out numbered -- then what will you do?

let's help our own citizens first and then do what we can to reach out to others.

Mexico watches its people suffer daily. What do they do about it? They encourage them to go to the USA .That's how they solve their hunger/suffering /poverty problems.Let Mexico and all the other nations that illegal aliens come from take care of its own.American cant save the world, and I for one am one American that's tired of other country's and its people expecting it.While they say how much they hate us and our country.
I simply cant feel compassion for people that hate me and my country..I'm done

Send all the Illegals back home....The legal immigrants preform the same work, for the same pay, the only difference is they are legal.

You should read about how Mexico treats their illegals. We should get them on a bus with a nice packed lunch and send them back. They need to fight for their jobs back home.

NO I would not watch them suffer...I would watch them get put into the bus and sent home. That is...if they didn't already do it themselves!!!
