Every answer here is good, drink and stay hydrated, eat, and take either asprin (good), motrin (better), or an over the counter migraine medication (best).
The next day you need to take something with caffiene in it. The over the counter migraine medication contains asprin, acetaminophen, and caffiene that fights off the affects of the migraine, which is similar to a hangover. Also drinking something such as PowerAde or Gatorade will help after you finish your drinking.
Start drinking water long before you start drinking alcohol. You know you have done it right when you need to urinate before you finish your drink.
Avoid food that takes too long to digest or that may upset your stomach or you may be talking to Ralph and hugging the porcelin bowl in the bathroom!

Drink water between drinks. It'll even make you feel drunker, but lessens the after-effect. Keep nibbling on food. Quit drinking 30-45 minutes before you go home and just drink water. You'll still feel loopy, but the next morning is a heck of a lot better!

I try to drink a bunch of water before I go out drinking, and then a bunch when I get home before I go to sleep. It lessens your dehydration, which lessens your hangover.

Drinking water is the major palliative I've found, but the sugar content of your drinks has a lot to do with it. Sweet drinks tend to throw off twice the hangover that non-sweet ones do. Stay away from wine coolers and syrupy booze and you should come out...well...still hungover. Ain't no getting around that. But hopefully less so.

Take 2 asprins before bed and drink a thing of pedialyte, it doesn't taste the best but it is a surefire way not to get a hangover, also if you care to you can alternate an alcoholic beverage with a glass of water...ie. beer, then water, beer, then water....it works!! But contrary to what everyone else says......get DRUNK......it's New Years Eve.....just be safe and don't drive!! Have fun, hope this helps!!

I always took a few Tylenol, and drank a LOT of water before going to bed. The headache is caused by dehydration of the alcohols diuretic effect. Haven't heard of a cure for that sluggish feeling though.

Not mixing different alcohols. Stick to drinks that have the same alcohol in them, when you mix dark and light alcohols, that contributes to hangovers. Also, after you have partied and finished drinking, eat something. Don't go to sleep with out having ate something. Have fun bringing in 2007!
