I don't want a band and I'll just hook in my ipod with some music I'll download but I don't want it to be cheesey. Maybe some modern stuff. I like 90's music like REM and Oasis(late 90s but still 90s) and mid 90s. It would be really quiet. I just don't want the normal stuff.

There is a song by Lifehouse called "Everything". It would be a great slow song to play at your wedding... That is the only song that I can think of though.

If you want something lightly played in the background, try to find some music played by a solo instrument such as a guitar or harp. If you know someone who plays an instrument, you could ask them to record a few of your favorite songs. I think that would make a lovely wedding gift!

Well I'm a big Kenny G fan, he's a classic, but it looks like you're looking for something more unique. I think it would be fun for you and your fiancee to take a few days to go through old CDs or look up some songs from when you were dating that are special to you and make a nice playlist. Good luck!

Our DJ suggested old standards (Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby) and Big Band music on low in the background during dinner.

See if you can get the instrumental version of your favorite songs. That's great for background music, since it's mostly the words that can be distracting.

Classical or anything instrumental is very pleasing while dining, then you can mix it up after the meal!
