More night races
No restrictor plate races
Add Rockingham and North Wilksboro back to schedule (or at
least more short tracks somewhere)
Limit teams to 2 cars
Drop the 35 provisional spots or whatever it is
More bonus points for winning, leading the most laps because
it just seems too hard to catch up in the standings
Nascar organization quit making it all about the money - I think
Nascar has lost some of its appeal by dropping short tracks
and adding cookie-cutter mile-and-a half tracks
Do something to discourage torn up cars that are numerous
laps down from just riding around to gain a few points

1. More points for winning. It's too hard to win, so reward the winner for his acheivement.
2. Lose the 10 chase cars to just 800 points out, no matter how many cars. If there are 15 cars within 800, they are in, or 12 whatever.
3. Lose the restrictor plates, they are race cars and race car driver's. If they slow the cars down then anyone can race in Nascar.
4. Restrict provisionals. Limit how many they can use because the new teams exploit this rule.
5. I like the lucky-dog, but it needs to be more regulated. If your more than 1 lap down, you need to make up the laps to get back to 1 lap down, then your elegable. AND you can only receive 1 lucky-dog, that's it.
6. Stop changing rules more than into a season. If they impliment rules make them befor the season, take notes for new ones and implement them the following year, not make changes half-way.
7. Regulate how many cars on a team. Rousch, Hindrick, have too many. Being part-owner is still owning another team. Do you think Jeff really has anything to do with the business side of Jimmy's team, NO Rick does.
8. Add a road course in the chase. If you are a racecar driver this shouldn't be a problem.
9. Restrick how many times you try to qualify and don't. If you didn't make the 20 other races you qualified for maybe Nascar isn't for you.
10. I agree with the green/white/checker finish that cars that are 2 or more laps down should leave the track. Let lead lap cars start 10 car lengths ahead of lap cars so the lap cars will be out of the way, and not cause a problem.
11. Limit the amount of races new manufactures can enter their first year. Toyota and any other manufacturers should only get like half a race schedule for their first time out. Like the last 10 races they can't enter, so the past champions that these new teams get can't use them up for the chase competitors.
12. Regulate the price for the beer at all tracks, it's just too damn high.

I remember being on the beach at Daytona, sitting on the fender of my father's Packard, eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, drinking a Coke, and watching the race cars flash by me just yards from my bare feet. I miss those days.
Nascar should go back to "STOCK" car racing. Once upon a time it was a NASCAR rule that manufacturers had to produce at least 500 units of the vehicle type they planned to race during the season. How many 358 cubic inch V-8, rear wheel drive 2 door Ford 500's or Taurus's have you seen on the road. Let the manufacturers race what they sell so they can claim real credit and we can see what our cars can do when there are no speed limits.
Run with the same size and type tires that are used on the road. That way there can be some tire competition and we will know which brands of tire are the safest and most durable.
Eliminate non-stock spoilers and front air dams. Let the manufacturers build cars that we KNOW will handle well at high speeds.
Allow the introduction of modern fuel injection instead of the 50 year old technology of the 4 barrel carb.
Racing should be about how racers can go faster, not about how the sanctioning body slows them down to increase "safety" and lower liability insurance costs.
That's my $.02 worth.

Ah, in a perfect world:
1) they'd get rid of the green-white-checkered. What kind of racing is that?!
2) they'd crucify the "start n' park" folks, who start the race, run around for minute, then bugger off the track so they don't wreck their ride and they can still collect money for showing up. If you ain't gonna race, don't show your face!
3) NASCAR would expand the Chase, either to the top 15 or 20 in points, or to within, say, 700 points of the leader. There are a lot of really competitive guys getting left out because of bad luck or someone else's mistakes.
4) If a crew chief is caught with an illegal alteration or out-and-out cheating, I think the penalties should be higher. This is the one reason I like the Car of Tomorrow -- it'll weed out the drivers who are only running well because their equipment is "tweaked", not because they're talented!
5) NASCAR would be more consistent with the agressive driving and retaliation penalties.

More points for a win. I think a win should actually mean something. Kasey Kahne should have finished higher in the standings than he did, because he won more races. I have seen years when the guy who won the cup had only won one race the entire season, yet there were guys with five or six wins, who I thought deserved it more. At least this year the champion was only a race away from tying Kasey for number of wins.
I don't like double file restarts I think that they are really stupid, there is no reason for the lapped traffic to be at the front with the guys racing for position.
I would love to see heftier fines for aggressive driving as well. People like Tony Stewart and Jr. (more so tony the last few seasons) are always wrecking people and nothing happens to them. When someone retaliates off track, then it becomes a big issue, aggressive driving is dangerous and could kill someone, Punching each other out, while that is inappropriate behavior for grown adults, is not as dangerous. I really think they should rethink their policies on this.

1. Get rid of this Lucky Dog garbage. Racers should race, not be handed a lap.
2. Get rid of the ridiculous Race for the Chase. Go back to the old points system - you know, the one that made sense.
3. No more splitting the season between networks. The first half of the season has excellent race coverage. We miss half of the accidents and track happenings in the last part of the season when coverage switches. The only good thing about that team and their coverage is Alan Bestwick anyway. At least he knows how to call a race.

#1, Race in all weather. If it's raining, time to put the wets on. I am 100% certain that Goodyear can come up with a wet tire for NASCAR.
#2, More points for a win.
#3, Expand the field in the chase to 20. Not in the top 10 means you aren't competitive for the series championship? Tell that to Tony Stewart.
#4, Dump the restrictor plates. Cars going too fast at some tracks? Put a SAFER barrier up. Works at Indy, although they need to expand the SAFER barrier there for the F1 race.
#5, Get rid of the Lucky Dog. You went a lap down? Should of has a better car. You CAN race your way back from a lap down if you have the driver and the car.
#6, More road courses. One of the reasons the world considers NASCAR a joke is nearly every race involves turning left only. Or, maybe try something different and run a race or two CLOCKWISE, like the rest of the world races.
#7, Restrict teams to no more than 2 cars. These companies with stables of 4 cars is silly.

1. Being able to race back to the caution flag again.
2. Stop taking races away from good tracks ie. Darlington and Rockingham
3. No more 1.5 mile tracks (cookie cutters).
4. Put on the split screen for commercials (like ESPN with IRL).
5. Stop calling so many cautions for invisible debris
6. Lower the price of tickets
7. Coming up with a way to dry the track faster when it rains.
8. Stop cheating for Dale Jr.
9. Put another 3 drivers in the chase every year.
10. Having NASCAR stop trying to be "sexy" and go back to the roots of real stock car racing.
That's my top 10.

1 - MORE POINTS FOR WINNING THE RACE Make it 200
2 - Add a road-course in the 10 Race Chase and drop any of the 1.5 mile cookie-cutter tracks (Texas, Atlanta, Charlotte, Miami) that are on the 10 race schedule
3 - Do not pay any points or any money for teams that do the practice of "Start and Park" (Meaning start the race run 3-4 laps and then go home)
4 - Revise the Champ's Provisional rule and you can only use it like 6 times in a season
5 - Bring Back the $1 Million Bonus program where you win the Daytona 500, Carolina Dodge Dealers 500 (use to be the Southern 500), Coke 600, Allstate 400 and Aaron's 499 all in the same season.
