It depends on where you get it. I got one on my lower back and it just felt like a sting, afterwards it didn't even hurt at all. The sensitive areas on the wrist and ankles and back area. Go for it if you want one, they are worth it!

It hurts--don't let anyone tell you differently. But some places hurt more than others. I have two and the armband on my upper arm hurt WAY more than the second one, which is on my stomach, right above my hip. Or maybe I just was better at pain tolerance the second time. It feels like a knife cutting into your skin, but it's tolerable. After a few minutes, you kind of go numb so it's not so bad. If you really want one, don't let the thought of pain be the reason you don't get one. It does hurt, but I love my tattoos and think the short period of pain is totally worth it...

Depends on the person, the size of the peice and even the experience of the artist himself. Mine is a cross about 3" long and 1.5" wide. Place on my back (just below my neck and inbetween my shoulderblade) I didnt feel anything. I though, can tolerate an extreme amount of pain. My artist has also been in the business for over 20 years and he knew what he was doing.

Just assuming this - but the more bonier the area the more likely the pain would be. Iwould think ankles, feet and hips would hurt worse then say a calf, upper arms and back. But thats just me.

It's true that everyone has a different threshold of pain. What one person considers not painful at all could be devastating to another. Some people describe the feeling as a "hot scratch". Some have said it was "annoying". Most say it was not nearly as bad as they feared. But there is a little more than pain alone to consider when getting a tattoo.

Well getting a tattoo is more of a annoying feeling...me i don't like needles and when i got my first tattoo it didn't hurt as much as ppl say it would..it all depends on how well you can take pain...if this is your first time getting a tattoo start small..any ways have a nice one later

The level of pain is going to depend on where the tattoo is placed and also depends on the artist. I have two, done by the same artist...the one on back didn't really hurt at all, just felt like a really bad sunburn for the remainder of the day it was done (kinda fitting I suppose since it is a large sun); the second one is just above my hip, not nearly as big, took half as long but it hurt like hell (at the same time, it was done in a very ticklish area...I wanted to laugh and cry, but couldn't do either or it would have screwed it up). The brother of the guy who did mine is also a tattoo artist and he did one on my friend's back, about the same size and location of mine and she said it hurt like hell.

Well, it depends on where you put the tattoo. Some places on your body would hurt more than others. But, I can't imagine it would feel "good" anywhere...after all, it is being put on by a needle.

Depends where you get it. If you get a tattoo on your finger, it hurts a whole lot because of the lack of fat.

that is totally upto you. what hurts one person may not hurt another. ive even seen girls who say it tickles. the common thing is that it feels like a bad sunburn and burns more than it hurts.

that and if you go to someone who isnt aprofessional thye may have set the needles too deep.

Oh and someone rubbing alcohol gel into it will also hurt. A LOT

Geting a tattoo doesn't hurt that bad, after a while it goes numb. I would suggest you get it done on your upper arm.
