Some species of roundworm, hookworm, tapeworm, and occasionally whipworm can be transmitted to humans. However, to become infested with any of these parasites, your granddaughter would have to injest the eggs/larvae. Keep an eye on her and make sure she washes her hands after she plays with the puppy (especially before she eats, which she should be anyway.) Unless she's playing in the puppy's feces, she should be fine. Most dewormers work pretty quickly so the worms in the puppy have most likely been killed already anyway.

It depends on what type of worm the puppy has.
It's not very common for people to get worms from dogs, but it is very possible. Washing your granddaughter's hands is a good step. Also make sure she doesn't play where the puppy uses the bathroom. Kids have a tendency to touch things and put their hands or objects into their mouths.

Hookworms & roundworms can be passed to humans.Roundworm is a major health concern. Roundworm lives in the small intestine of dogs. It is a microscopic and parasitic organism. Eggs are passed into the environment in the dog's waste. The eggs then take two weeks to a month to become infective.
There is no risk from fresh dog waste. But after becoming infective, eggs can remain in the soil for several years
Humans do not develop adult roundworms, although migration of larvae through tissues and organs can cause disease. Humans usually become infected through contact with eggs in the soil or by accidental ingestion.
Direct contact between infected dogs and humans is not considered to play a role in the transmission of roundworm. Young children are at the greatest risk. They often eat dirt and grass and fill their mouths with contaminated hands. Hand powered wheel chair users and field sports players also face greater risks.
Roundworm is not present in dogs that receive regular worm treatments. Picking up dog waste before roundworm eggs can become infective is equally important.
If you practice proper, normal hygeine measures then there is nothing to worry about. There is no need to keep your child from playing & interacting with the puppy..just make sure she always washes her hands before eating (which she should anyway). Also make sure to keep the stool in the yard picked up and disposed of. Have the puppy use a designated area of the yard for a potty..an area away from where children play.
Tapeworms can't be passed on to humans by pets.
***** ringworm is NOT a worm but rather a fungal infection and it is contageous to humans as well as other pets*********

Intestinal worms can only be passed on if they are ingested, and most people don't eat what comes out the other end of their dogs so don't worry about that :) Wash hands ALWAYS before eating in case hands could have come in contact with the parasites, and you'll be fine.

Yes some can be passed onto humans, but only if ingested. So as long as everyone is keeping their hands washed it's not very likely that they will be passed on. Most deworming medicines work very quickly so the puppy might actually be fine now.

yes, they can spread the worms.
If the pup has already been wormed I doubt that there is a real problem. Clean up any poop prier to the deworming. That may provide a source for recontaminating or spreading on the bottom of shoes.

Yes, humans can get worms from their pets. It's usually from ingestion of the eggs, so, as long as everyone has been washing their hands you should be ok.

If the pup has been de-wormed, then once she voids them, there should not be a problem with transference.

a)No self respecting vet could shy away a dying pup. they are going to decide fee after words. in case you return in and tell them you dont have funds however the canines needs interest they are going to artwork out fee in installments. b)remember...in case you may not locate the money for a vet...you may not locate the money for and animal! it somewhat is irresponsible for this very reason! whilst you probably did not mean to offer too lots drugs, you're immediately answerable for the loss of life of this animal.
