I owe back taxes with me and my (ex) husband. This is the first year to file single because of the recent divorce. If I were to get a refund this year, does the FED take my refund or only the primary of the original tax filings?"

If you are jointly responsible, they'll take your refund too whether it's a single return or not.

If you filed jointly, and the Feds placed a lien on you, then both of you will be liable for the debt and they can take your return. If you believe this is the case, I would suggest you get a personal loan from Prosper to pay the tax debt. The interest rates will be lower than anything the Feds charge and you don't have to risk your refund. The website is http://www.ProsperFiveStar.com and the group is The Sturzstrom Funding Group. Good luck.

A great way to get your ex back is https://tr.im/9Qvip

They might realize they need you and come crawling back!

If you do get back together, don't let the same issues that destroyed your relationship crop up again. Have a good, long talk about how you're both going to make it right this time.

If you feel that this was incurred because of the ex-spouses financial abuse, you can claim Innocent Spouse, but you will have to hire a tax lawyer to get this to stick. In the meantime, you need to work something out with the IRS or they can garnish your wages, and that can be very stiff (They leave you with about $162.00 and take the rest)

Many girls break up with their significant others, is because they need time to figure things out. Don't take it personally, if you want her back, you have to show her you can help her. If you love her then you'll let her go, that's it. Not everybody who you date in high school you end up staying with, the chances are extremely unlikely. So if she doesn't want to, then you need to let her go.
