I live with my dad and I want to move out. I have a person who is willing to let me live with them. I can't live with my mom because she doesn't have a steady home. Is the emancipation age in Georgia 16?

YES. It is called "emancipated minor". You and dad can go to family court and fill out the paper work. Its not as easy as you think though. Declaring urself as an emancipated minor (only if the judge grants it) says that you have to be in a position where you are making your own money , whether you are in school or not , living with someone who is helping or not. all these things including the home situation plays a role in being granted the emancipation.

The link below goes into GREATER detail. HOPE IT HELPS! Hope eveything turns out well.

Yes it is. You can request to be emancipated or have the person (an adult) that you want to live with take guardianship of you but that would need to cooperation of both of your parents. You will have to prove that you are independent and self sufficient in order to be emancipated at 16 so I hope you can show the judge that you have been taking care of yourself.

In Georgia you could pass out at 17, yet thats in case you pass to the court docket domicile and get approval. the only factor which you ought to do to get approval is to instruct which you will look after your self. Like have a plan. tell then the place you would be shifting, who you would be shifting in with, the type you will pay for your self..etc i'm 17, and that i stay in georgia too. So in case you ever wanna communicate you could in simple terms e mail me:)

Hello =)

I think that effectively, you could do so.

I'm not sure as to the legality of it. But at 16, you're not high on their list of priorities, believe me. Contact your dept of child services for more information.....They're in the blue pages...

Namaste, and Happy New Year,

I thought that was a divorce in Georgia!
Seriously, you have to wait until you are 18, unless there is abuse issues.
