Mk so if you get signed off on the DEP Book before MEPS than you get to go into BT as E-2. Another thing you can do to gain rank is to get 2 people to enlist under your name, would make you E-2; or 4 people enlist under your name, would make you E-3.

My question is what if you did the DEP Book and got signed off on it, and then got 2 people to enlist under your name? Would you be E-2 or E-3? And if you got signed off on the DEP Book, and then got 4 people to enlist under your name would you be E-3 or E-4?

Good question, I would say you SHOULD get E-3 but might not.

St N: this is not a game. "DEP" is delayed entry program. MEPS is the place all recruits go through (I think it's Military Enlistment Processing Station).

Here are the ways that I know of for getting advancement before basic training:

Recruit 2 of your friends = one advancement
Recruit 4 of your friends = two advancements

30 college level semester credits = one advancement
60 college level semester credits = two advancements

Eagle scout = two advancements

Every division in basic training awards one meritorious advancement to a recruit.

(When you get that book signed off, by the way, get a copy and staple it to your body. The navy will lose it at least 3 times before giving you credit. They're famous for it, and in boot camp, they actually don't care if you get credit.)

E-3 is the best you can do. After that, you have to finish an A school to advance to E-4. I've seen E-5's in the army and air force enlist in the navy and lose rank because of this. Completion of a school is a requirement for E-4, no exceptions are ever made that I know of.

I'll tell you right now that you cannot enlist into the grade of E-4 unless you have a bachelor's degree. In the Navy and Marine Corps, I don't think you can enlist into E-4 at all.

Max is E3 for Boot camp, E4 possibly upon the succesful completion of A school, to coincide with TIR and other requirements met. I don't believe it is possible to combine the DEP Quals book advancement with the referral advancement.

You top out at E-3 in boot camp after you get your rating or pass your A school you will get E-4 depend on the program.
Yes you start boot camp at E-1 but at the end they pay you up to date so you will have bigger check leaving boot camp.

What does this have to do with the United States Navy?? Please identify game stuff as game stuff and post under that category. For all other ranking questions, see you local recruiter and learn them in boot camp.
