Yes it is. Anything that you need help of any type with is a good enough reason to ask for support. I'm sorry about your friend.

I would think so, but if you don't have anyone who can support you and you are in the UK there is an organisation called Cruise and they specialise in helping people manage their bereavement (of course, I've mad an assumption that that is the sort of loss you are talking about).
