All your answers are great. Here in the UK nearly every area recycles in a black bin for none recyclables, a green bin for garden waste and cardboard, a green box for glass and plastics and a blue bag for paper. The bin men also come only once every two weeks to collect none recyclables which helps make people recycle.

I have lived in both Germany and the US. In Germany recycling is mandatory. Each house is issued several different colored garbage cans and you have to sort your stuff. If the trash collectors notice your garbage and recycling being mixed up then they can discontinue collection.

In the US it is largely voluntary. In most communities it has become much easier in recent years. My mom's house in California has a system similar to Germany's. However there is no penalty to mixing your trash and recycling.

In Fort Worth, Texas, USA the city hires a company to pick up the garbage in a wheeled cart provided by this company. They also provide a cart to put recycled items such as paper, glass, tin cans, plastics and etc. Once a week I put these carts at the curb to be empted by the company.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
