Versus what? Men. That would depend on the situation and each person.
In my personal experience, my 'girl' friends can be more supportive and listening during a problem, etc., than my guy friends. However, my guy friends often aren't emotional, giving me some support to get over whatever it is that's bothering me. Women tend to be more emotional over things than guys, which has it's pros and cons.

In my experience yes. In general they listen more and have more empathy and can give advice. Saying that though I know women who are useless for emotional support, so it really depends on the individual.

You know, everyone is different. I know many men and women who are very supportive emotionally. I know many men and women who offer no support at all. Indivuals vary, you can't really say men or women better.

Not necessarily. Some of the best support I've ever had has come from men. I think it's a matter of personality rather than sex.
