~~~I just read someones answer about crab legs,,and they said save the shells and make crab stock with them,,,hmmm sounds yummy but how do I do that and what can I do with the crab stock afterwords, what is it used for?

Oooh, this might have been me. Toss all the crab shells in a large pot with water. Add carrots, celery, quartered red onions, garlic, bay leaves, and some salt and pepper. Bring to a boil and simmer for 4 hours or so. (You can add more water if it's reducing too fast.) Strain all the veggies and shells out of it and you have stock.

For the best recipe I use the one from www.fishermansexpress.com. Look under King crab, and there's a bisque/chowder recipe. Only I don't use the tomatoes, I substitute red bell pepper. One whole pot of that is gone within a day!

Both of the previous answers are great choices, you can also use it in seafood pastas and such. To make the stock, simmer the shells for about 2- 2 1/2 hours, strain the liquid. and toss the shells. Some people use spices but I like to just add the spice later on.
