1. Put on ice cube on your hair and rub it gently. Don't rub it too hard, because you will tangle up your hair and stick more of it to the gum.
2. If the gum won't come out, grab a spoonful of peanut butter, and massage it into your hair. Again, do not rub too vigerously, as the hair will get more tangled in the gum.
3. Get a wide but shallow cup, and fill it about halfway up with warm water. Cold water will just get your hair all wet, and hot water will not work as well, and damage your hair. Carefully soak just the few locks of hair with gum, while gently working the gum out of the hair.

Tried and True Experience taught me to use peanut butter to break down the gum. It basically dissolves. Then just wash the hair a couple of times to get the peanut butter out. The ice trick works, but not as well. Good luck and Happier New Year. Nana

Wrap it in ice so that the gum hardens. Then remove as much of the solid as you can. After that, wash with water and soap. Scrub hard.

Or, use peanut butter.

If you still can't get it all out, cut off the kid's hair - after all, hair will grow again and cutting it off temporarily will teach the kids a lesson not to play with gum in this way, a valuable lesson that parents must be willing for kids to learn the hard way.

peanut butter works best - just put some on the gum and work it in - and work the gum out - wash after you get all the gum out.
I have used this on my kids and NEVER had to cut there hair.

Well I am a teenager myself, and haha, just this morning about 30 minutes ago, I tried Pure White Vinegar. It smells bad, but it worked! I remember when I was younger - when I used to get lice - I just remember how my dad always said "Vinegar will losen the eggs and lice off the hair so we can get them out with the comb, or even just wash them out." So I tried Vinegar in my hair and it had the same effect. All you really have to do is comb it out with a pick, or pull it out.

You can use WD-40 too. I've used it when I didn't no what else to use. :)

(The peanutbutter trick is slightly harder to do - very time consuming - but it DOES work!)

Best Wishes,
Shelley

Peanut Butter, Disolvite (spell), or cut the hair. My friend got gum in her hair when she was over and noticed that it was there in dance class. When we got back to my house my mom used disolvite (spell). Good Luck!!

Just do the best you can with peanut butter and cut out whatever is left. Some people use ice some how, but I'm not sure how it works.

If the ice doesn't work, massage some cooking oil into the hair and let sit for 20 minutes than it should slide right out.

Try goo gone to break down the gum. But be careful you have to be very gentle with the applications and trying to take it out.
