SOCOM Special Operations Command HQ is located on the western side of MacDill AFB. Air Force Special Operations are more concerned about getting in and out without getting caught than in ground operations. IE. The USAF will fly the planes, the Special Ops forces of the other branches will do the dirty work.
Here is their website if you want to see what units they have, where they are and etc.. (Who needs spies when you got the Internet?)

Those volunteering to become PJs must pass a grueling 10-week indoctrination course where the failure rate regularly exceeds 85%. By comparison, the SEAL school's failure rate is 75%.
This means that PJs make the SEALs look like bitches.

actual with existence after the protection force in concepts i'd say that the pararescue is possibly the perfect sepecial operations unit because the medical skills you receive there would help you develop right into a paramedic afterwards. do not recognize how a procedures strive against controller pertains to something mandatory in civilian aviation though.

PJ's are pretty hard core. I'm a Coast Guard Flight Corpsman. Some of the PJ's met have had to jump out of an aircraft with their gear and swim to where they have a patient (They are trained Paramedics) then figure how to get the patient out to difinitive medical care. Hat's off to the PJ's
