Well, Obviously, your parents aren't stupid and you know what you did so like you said kiddo, no lectures on what you did and how wrong it was. I'm afraid you are going to have to do what I did when I was a kid and face the music. Admit that what you did was a mistake and say you are sorry and don't do it again. Your parents I am sure have been where you are too. They were young once. Oh yeah! Believe it or not. Are you going to go to an early grave? I doubt it. Will you be grounded? You better believe it! My daughter is 15 ( almost 16) and I'd ground her too and you know why so I don't have to tell you. Here is a tip.....put some ice on it because a hicky is a bruise. Also, use a yellow cover stick first over the hicky to cover the purple, the a foundation with a yellow undertone overtop of that and a translucent powder to set so it won't run. This should hide it. PS Don't let him do that again!

No, hickies are not dangerous. They are really just a bruise, but a bruise caused by the pressure of sucking an area of skin rather than a bump or blow which is how we usually get a bruise. The bruise is caused by tiny blood vessels breaking and bleeding into the surrounding tissue. In the case of hickies the blood vessels break because of the pressure caused by the sucking. It then takes a while for this blood to be reabsorbed. They cannot cause blood clots or cancer or any other problem other than some discomfort from the bruise itself.

No long term effects, except maybe the ribbing from your friends which seems like it goes on forever...

This is simply a bruise like any other you have gotten or will get. The difference is in how the blood vessels are damaged initially, not in how it heals afterwards. Like any other bruise, it will heal itself over a period of a few days and the discoloration will disappear as the red blood cells which leaked out of the broken blood vessels are absorbed back into the body. I had a lady friend who used to think it was "cute" to put her mark on me when in the throes of passion...

That's what it is a myth! Think about it every bruise you got when you were a kid didn't turn in to cancer so having a bruise on your neck isn't going to turn into cancer
