I got my tongue pierced four days ago and its not really swollen like my tongue is so big as much as that in front of my barbell on the top of my tongue it is really hard and I guess it kinda is swollen because my ball is engraved in my tongue like normal. I have been taking advil and doing all the things my piercer said to do. Is this normal? When will it go down? I am just wondering because every morning I wake up hoping the hard patch is gone but it is still there. Please help, I am not up for anyone saying how stupid I was to do this or how sick it is. I know I probably will get those responses but hopefully some experienced person can tell me whats wrong. Thanks.

Should be about a week or two.

Yeah that depression in your tongue is normal. I had that and actually I had like a side depression after a while after the center one (directly below the ball) dissappeared, but eventually the side depression went away but it took longer than the center one.

Your piercer told you to take advil....? Weird

Anyhow make sure you eat alot of cold stuff and rinse you mouth with Scope after every meal. Tho once your tongue starts to turn white and get like film I stopped doin it for a while. The alcohol from it strips the protective mucus layer or somethin.

Your tongue should completetely heal in a month or so.

Impossible to tell, everyone heals at a different rate. What may take a week for one person, may take two to three weeks for another.
