Why don't you take him out back and show him how to beat up the old guy from the nursing home you hired to mow your lawn? That should man him right up...lol just kidding.

For some people you may be going a little overboard. I'm not saying that you're concern is not genuine. Being a parent or a guardian involves a whole lot more than just teaching manners and stressing school and religion, or even making sure he's properly clothed and fed. You have to be involved in every aspect of a young child's life, so I actually applaud your concern. But stand back and look at the whole situation before you decide to set him back in the "Right" direction. Is he really going in the wrong direction? Why don't you sit down by yourself and have a good listen to the meaning of the words in his music. I see nothing wrong with Lionel Ritchie, but that doesn't mean that you don't. Also, music is such a big part of children's lives, putting a restriction on it may be damaging to your relationship with him. Now, by all means, if you decide that the music he's listening to is unhealthy for him, then I suggest that you nip it in the bud. But be careful because you may be tempted to control other aspects of his life as well that may only need a little guidance rather than control.

I believe as a loving Uncle, it is your responsibility to get the testosterone levels of this young child built up.I would recommend filling up an i-pod with Ted Nugent, Toby Keith, Iron Maiden, and maybe some Hank Jr and make this young lad listen to it for a minimum of 8 hours a day. This should be a start to the "right direction". Good luck and Happy New Year..

Geeesh! Get a grip Dude!
There's a lot worse things in life than Lionel Richie, Fogelberg or Yanni! You ought to be thankful that he's not listening to Insane Clown Posse or worse! And I doubt Dr. Phil could turn any child into a homosexual just by watching his show.
(I can't stand Dr. Phil by the way).

Lionel Richie is not gay. And maybe he likes the tone of the music. He doesn't know the artists just the sound of the music. Get over yourself. It doesn't mean he is going to be gay. That kind of music is easy to understand at that age. They can hear the words more clearly.

Disconnect your cable...put tin foil around your house.
This should solve your immediate problems.
Long term- a metal cage with a food slot sounds in order.
What you need to do is play a continuous loop of Metallica and Rammstein, that'll straighen him out and destroy any gayness that might be festering.
Good luck

This is not a serious issue. There is nothing wrong with your nephew watching Dr. Phil of listen to particular artists. That has no impact on the person he would turn out to be.

You're definitely overreacting! He just likes this kind of music! For God's sake his mum hasn't been playing with dolls together with him, nor dressing him in girl's clothes. Listening to any kind music doesn't make you homosexual! If he is a sociable child and has friends that are his '' team'' so to say with boys and girls, you don't have anything to worry about.
