The best is probably Lasix, and it's only available by prescription. There are over the counter things you can take, but you are getting into a very dangerous health situation if you plan to take these without a doctor's care. Diuretics remove excess water from the tissues, but they also remove potassium and other chemicals which the body needs. Go to Walgreens or Wal-Mart and ask a pharmacist and get the same answer. If you're planning to do this as a weight loss aid, you're headed for big trouble!

Someone said to stop drinking water--Actually you are supposed to drink more water to flush your system out. If you want to take a pill to relieve excess water because of your cycle, you may want to think about it before you do it every month. 1.) it happens for a reason and it should only be the first day or two. 2.) you should notice when you get rid of the excess water--on day two or three you will have to urinate a lot. 3.) Personally, I have exercised and drank more water when I have excess water and it really has worked for me. Water pills (diuretics) work but health-wise, you want to hydrate yourself, not dehydrate yourself. Dehydration causing hunger, headaches and is not good for your body.

I retain water a lot. I eat out most of the time and restaurant and fast food contains lots of salt.
When I feel the bloat, I take two aspirin. By morning, the water is released.
Be very careful in taking drugs to release the fluid. When you do that you also release minerals that your body needs to function properly and then you have more problems.

My brothers was on meds for this and he also had to take minerals and vitamins like potassium. That is the first thing that goes with the water loss. Becareful our bodies are in a fine balance and anything like drugs can mess it up.

Lasix is a Rx medication (diuretic) to get rid of excess fluid. There may be over the counter products for that as well, I'm not sure. Do an online search or ask your local pharmacist.

Diurex

But they are dangerous and can cause massive sodium and potassium deficiencies which can get bad enough to kill you.

Drink Cranberry juice or take a cranberry pill. At least that puts something into you as it takes away. Vitamin C is better than nothing!

That would be Lasix (fluorasidimide)...altho there are over the counter meds that work. Also, stay away from salt or over-salted foods - salt holds water.
