Actually, for me, reading a few passages of the Bible gave me a stronger Atheistic belief. I just find that stuff so impossible to believe.

You can believe in God and Jesus and not read the Bible! I would know, I'm a believer and have never read the Bible. It's just better for you to read it so that way you know what you are believing in.

I have read the bible and in fact there are many things in it that just confused me. What about the dinosaurs? Cavemen etc. However the bible clearly states that his "sheep" shall know him. I do not believe because of the bible. In fact I think many things in the bible (to me) seem like they contradict themselves. But I am not here to judge, I believe in God because of what I feel, what is in my heart. Each of us must question and learn. I more than likely would not know who I believed in as far as names...but I would still have the strong Faith (which is belief in the things unseen). So with the bible or not... a bible you can see, feel and touch...yet that is not enough to make a person a believer. Faith alone does that.

I think I would have had to have some knowledge or understanding of what it said or was about if I hadn't read it myself.
In my case, I felt there was just too much missing from what I was told/taught growing up in the church my parents belonged to. And then when I got older another group tried to tell me they had the truth. I started to believe then I knew there was something true to it all that I just didn't know. It wasn't until after I believed they really existed did I read the Bible.
But as I said I had heard, even though I hadn't read.

How would you deny Him? Look around at the night sky and ask yourself if man could have hung the stars and planets into nothing. Man is not capable of doing anything like that. Look at the wondrous nature around us. Even a heathen knows that something or SOMEONE had to do it. There is just no describing the joy of knowing that God has given all of us these marvels. Only a fool would say that a man did these things. There is not a cure for a common cold, so how could we do it? And it sure is NO ACCIDENT either.

God states that he has placed a longing for Him in the hearts of men... and no man will be complete without Him. He is a kind generous God not to dictate to how we should believe and behave ( as Saddam ruled his people) What a gracious God to not force Himself upon mankind. He desires us to know and love Hi on our own. Therefore all men have an emptiness in there soul which cant be replaced by anything- love-money-sex--- The bible says seek and ye shall find. Most all men know of Jesus as well... God is a fair God and will expose Himself to every soul. Jesus is the only one who died on the cross fro your sin. It is by that sacrifice that we receieve salvation. Giving Christ all of your sin and beleiving he died for your sin - accepting Him as your savior and desireing in your whol;e heart to know and understand Him... it is then God will reveal to you your salvation thry Christ. Again... seek and you WILL find. This is a promise of the bible.

In the Bible it says "Study to show thyself approved" and also "Hide these words in your heart" I think the reason we study the Bible is so we can be witnesses to those who don't have the opportunity to read the Bible. The Ethiopian that spoke with Paul couldn't read. Paul told him the story of Christ and he believed and was baptised that day. So Yes, you can believe without actually reading the word for yourself.
