Okay, I power walk on that thing for 1 hour everyday. I'm getting sick of getting the run around on excercising. They say if I keep doing the same excercise everyday it won't do anything for me while others are saying power walking everyday is "A ok." My question is......is power walking for an hour everyday is good for burning calories and fat.....or is it not because I'm doing it everyday? I was told I have to trick my body by doing other excercises so it won't get use to it. It's just too much tricking to lose weight! lol Holla at me and let me know. SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY.

you should try powerwalking for maybe 3-5 times a week if you wish to do it for an hour each time, and include other exercises as well. like crunches, sit ups, squats, or just get out and get active. join a sport or exercise with a friend. hope that helps!

I hear over and over that you really should switch it up often...different exercises (I alternate between the treadmill, a couple of different ellipticals, stairclimber and bike as well as doing the occasional kickboxing and step classes). You should also be adding some sort of weight training to your routine. However, with that being said, years ago I worked with a woman who lost a huge amount of weight by power walking daily (it did have it's downside though...she did it outside and once slipped on ice and broke her wrist). I believe she went from like a size 24 to a 6. And remember to watch what you eat as well.

Consider the concept of periodization. You need to adjust the variety, duration and intensity of your exercsies to continually stimulate your body to change and adapt. The body habituates or accustomes quickly to stimuli and external stessors so modification is necessary. Also note that sleep, and more importantly proper diet are needed for successful weight loss.

I am on the treadmill every day for 45 minutes, doing my powerwalk. It keeps me in shape and the weight off.
