I've heard about dyeable wedding/bridal shoes. But how do you dye them and why?

Usually, you would have them dyed to match your dress if you don;t have a white dress - often, bridemaids will get them dyed to match their gowns. Stores that sell them usually dye them as well, it is not something I recommend doing yourself.

Ok, I have had several pairs of these. You can get them at Payless, or most other mall shoe stores. I think they can dye them for you. Or, contact a local bridal dress shop & ask them their advice about dying the shoes; can they get the shoes dyed for you, or what brand of dye they suggest. The reason why ladies have shoes dyed is to match a certain outfit like a prom dress or bridesmaid dress.

You don't dye them yourself. The bridal store, shoe store, or recommended speciality store dye them. You do this if you want the bridesmaids dresses to EXACTLY match the shoes. However, it doesn't usually work out that well, and the shoes are generally darker than the dresses anyway.

The shoes come out pretty close to the right shade. The only problem I had with them is the price. It's only like 3 dollars to dye them, but it is usually $40-60 for a pair of shoes! Now, I would buy a pair of shoes for that much, but not if they were dyed fern colored and I could never wear them again. But that's just me :) They do have cute shoes though.

The shoe store sends the shoes out to be dyed. They are usually bridesmaid's shoes that are dyed to match their dresses.

It would be very difficult to do this because when the shoes are dyed they sometimes dont come out the color you want them to.

I wouldn't waste you or your bridesmaids money on dyeable shoes. It never looks right and it's kind of outdated. Try clear or white heels.

They are dyed for you when you buy them. I know Baker's used to sell them and dye them also.
