Perhaps I am not stating my question clearly enough. Does convection cook in 1/2 the time, 1/4 time? Is there a ratio that I could go by? The book with my oven isn[t much help.

The time is usually the same but the temperature should be reduced. For example, when I bake cookies and the recipe says 350º for a regular oven, I bake them for the same length of time at 325º.

Great question!

I refer to the package/recipe instructions and when it says cook for 12-14 minutes, I only cook for the 12 minutes using the convection oven. Turns out perfectly every time.

20% higher heat and time in a regular oven is the rule.
So if the ricipe calls for 350 for one hour...then raise that by 20 percent.

Simple math.
