Is this true? My wife and I have gone across the border and back several times in the past few years and they only asked citizenship and maybe for a drivers license, but no passport, can anyone tell me if this rumor of them now requiring one is true? thanks!

I found a site and it says this will be phased in by 2008 (not 2007) so maybe it's not happening yet? here is the source http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2005-11-30-canada-passports_x.htm

Yes, I heard this on NPR news. I think it only applies to people flying from Canada to the USA and vice versa, though. Not sure about that.

on the 2d i do no longer think you want a passport. so a techniques as getting one you in basic terms might desire to bypass to the placed up place of work and get an application and fill it out and that they are able to tell you something. I have been given mine various years in the past in the past 9/11 and it took some weeks. i'm unsure how long it takes now. i'm unsure relating to the fee. Mine became loose because of the fact it became interior the direction of the militia. yet i think my brothers became around 50 yet i might desire to be way off.

It's true but Dec 07 is the date. The same also applies to Mexico.

So go get that passport ASAP!

Yes this is true as well as traveling to Mexico or even on a cruise. It seems we are going to be like post-war Germany where as everyone will be required to carry their papers. (lol)
