I saw a recipe on TV once where they make like a stew of meat (chicken, pork, beef etc) and then they cover it up with this thick dough, (only on top) and then they bake it. So what you get is dough on top only and all the filling on the bottom. I want to know the name of this recipe and where I can find it.

Thanks a lot!!

Sounds like a pot pie. If the meat or chicken is covered w/encased in dough - it's probably a Wellington.

I have used recipes like this and they are either dumplings or pot pies. If you want an easy way to do this put stew in a 9X13 pan and place refridgerator biscuits on top...bake until biscuits are golden brown.

It sounds like dumplings (spoon dumplings). Try the Bisquick website ot Foodtv website. You want the dumpling recipe that you spoon on top not the old fashion roll and cut.
