Alberta is booming, but housing costs are getting higher & higher. I live in Winnipeg, less than 5% unemployment rate and houses are reasonable....but salaries are generally low in comparison.

East Coast Canada is good for not spending alot but you also get paid less but if you like a slow pace then it's the place to live but if you like the fast track life then stay away from New Bruswick, Nova Scotia, PEI and Newfoundland. Anywhere else is better then those places. For stuff to do and better wages, I'd have to say Vancouver, BC

Edmonton is booming (thats where I live) But I found that if you dont mind the drive rents are super reasonable if you look outside the city like mundare vegreville camrose and all of these small towns are booming too with the new developments like wallmart and the other super shops that generally consist in south edmonton common. A 1 bedroom apt in vegreville that includes utilities will run you about $400-$450a month and if you drive to edm. to work you could make up to $20/hr to start
P.S. stay away fom oil rig positions these jobs are not reliable at steady work unless you have been with the company for a while its just not worth the chance

Well, while it has a reputation for being expensive to live here, I love and recommend Vancouver! Housing is more than say, the prairie provinces, by a long shot, but wages are more here too, though I don't know if by equal percentages, likely not. However, the quality of life and all the amentities and activities available here, well, I would say it more than equals out any economic difference.

The Vancouver area has so much to offer, from museums, art galleries, water sports, winter sports, a multitude of parks, cultural diversity, and so, so much more!!

I live in Edmonton , the wages here are pretty good but housing costs are crazy ,and they're worse in Calgary.I know some people who have moved back to Saskatchewan because the job market there has improved and living costs are reasonable

If you don't think there's much on the East coast and are looking for something "more", I suggest you try Toronto. Whatever you mean by "more" I'm sure Toronto has it!

Vancouver. Majestic mountains, luscious sea, islands to explore, multiculti, terrific food, fountains everywhere, and close to Seattle. You have to experience the variety of things to do, see, taste, and find in this excellent city.

Toronto is a friendlier, cleaner version of NYC, and Montreal, though pretty, is inhabited by insufferable people.

It really depends what you are looking for....

Vancouver and Calgary are both close to skiing , Vancouver itself gets no snow..Toront is tha Capital of the world ( just ask a Torontonian..)..Montreal has the best night life....but for a clean, tranquil place Ottawa is the best....
